Refund & Cancellation Policy

⚠️ Important: Donations made to Chaitanya are generally non-refundable as they are immediately allocated to ongoing programs. However, we review genuine cases individually.

1. General Refund Policy

All donations made to Chaitanya are voluntary contributions and are generally considered final. Once a donation is processed and a receipt is issued, refunds are not provided as funds are promptly committed to program expenditure.

2. Circumstances Where Refunds May Be Considered

We may consider refund requests in the following limited circumstances:

  • Duplicate Transactions: If you were charged more than once for the same donation due to a technical error.
  • Unauthorized Transactions: If you believe a donation was made without your authorization, report it immediately.
  • Technical Errors: If the payment was processed but you did not receive a receipt and the transaction appears in your bank statement.
  • Incorrect Amount: If you were charged a significantly different amount than intended.

3. Refund Request Process

To request a refund, you must:

  1. Email us at cerdsindia@gmail.com within 7 days of the transaction.
  2. Include your full name, email used for donation, transaction/payment ID, and reason for the refund request.
  3. Provide your bank account details for refund processing (if approved).

We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and respond with a decision within 7 business days.

4. Processing of Approved Refunds

  • Approved refunds will be credited to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
  • Razorpay may take additional 2–5 business days to process the refund to your bank/card.
  • An 80G certificate will not be issued for refunded donations.
  • Any 80G certificate already issued for a refunded donation must be returned and will be cancelled.

5. Event Registration Cancellations

For paid event registrations:

  • Cancellations made more than 7 days before the event: Full refund (minus payment gateway charges).
  • Cancellations made 3–7 days before the event: 50% refund.
  • Cancellations made less than 3 days before: No refund (you may transfer your registration to another person).
  • If CERDS cancels an event: Full refund will be provided.

6. Tax Deduction Reversal

If a refund is processed for a donation for which an 80G certificate has been provided, you are responsible for informing your tax authority about the reversal and adjusting your tax returns accordingly.
